On-the-go access to AXA health policies and claim submission and tracking at your fingertips
AXA Singapore today launched MyAXAHealth, a one-stop health app that provides users with easy access to high quality medical advice from Singapore based GPs via live chat or secure “face-to-face” video call anytime and anywhere in the world.
This is the first time an insurer is offering such a service in Singapore and in Asia. “Trust, expertise and reliability are at the core of Health insurance. This innovative service is a new milestone to deliver a better customer experience, and reinforce our role as a Health partner of our customers”, said Andre Czanik, Chief Health Officer of AXA Insurance Singapore.
MyAXAHealth app will provide the region’s first mobile service to conduct live chat consultations with a certified general practitioner (GP) – all at one’s fingertips. Using video-calling technology available on smartphones, MyAXAHealth allows customers to directly connect with a GP to seek medical advice, obtain a medical prescription or request for a specialist referral.
The mobile app will also allow customers to manage their healthcare experience by submitting and tracking their health claims online.
Supported by the AXA Assistance Medical Desk, customers will also be able to collect prescriptions from their local pharmacy and benefit from a specialist referral service. The integration with AXA Assistance ensures that customers are provided with quality care via a seamlessly integrated care network.
AXA Singapore will be rolling out the Live Doctor Consultation service to 5,000 users, comprising of employees and existing AXA customers within the next month.
“With the prevalence of personal mobile devices and increasing reliance on technology, there is a need to fill the gap of being able to gain access to medical advice anytime, anywhere. We found the perfect balance by bringing these two functionalities together with a single, one-stop app that is easily accessible via mobile devices. We are extremely proud to be the first insurer in Singapore and in Asia to introduce the live doctor consultation service, thus cutting out the waiting time at clinics for our customers,” said Mr Leo Costes, Chief Claims Officer of AXA Insurance Singapore.
“Through this first launch, we hope to better understand the needs of our customers and assess the effectiveness and functionalities of the app. From there, we have plans to roll out this exclusive service to all AXA customers.”
Mr Philippe Demangeat, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Assistance Singapore also shared, “We are excited to partner with AXA Insurance in this initiative in Singapore, we believe the synergy between both parties will bring positive impact to Singaporeans in their daily lives.”
Skip the Waiting Room and Consult a Doctor at Your Fingertips
How Does MyAXAHealth App Work?
1. Download AXAHealth app
2. Launch the Live Doctor Consultation feature
3. Register for MyDoc access – redirected to download MyDoc app
4. Select the option to chat with a medical professional
5. Start chatting with the dedicated AXA Medical Desk to get a video consultation appointment with a GP
1. Log in to MyAXAHealth app
Once logged onto MyAXAHealth portal with their account details, AXA customers can search or locate nearby medical clinics or centres, hospitals or doctors, gain instant access on their personal health policy coverage benefits, limits and exclusions, track their insurance claims details, or retrieve their AXA medical cards.
2. Request for a Live Doctor Consultation via MyDoc
Be it a cold, a sudden rash, eye condition, or a simple medical query, customers can request for a live doctor consultation via the MyDoc mobile app. MyDoc is a premier digital healthcare provider used by AXA to offer comprehensive healthcare solutions.
The AXA Assistance Medical Desk then helps to coordinate and place an appointment with the doctor for the customer, in which SMS and push notification reminders will be sent to prior to a scheduled consultation and when the doctor is ready to start the consultation.
3. Choose between a Live Message Chat or Video Call
Upon completion of a simple verification process, the AXA Assistance Medical Desk will connect customers with a doctor based on their preferred chat option; either through message or a video call.
From there, users can obtain diagnosis and medical advice from the certified doctor directly. If a specialist referral is required, AXA Assistance Medical Desk will arrange an appointment within the AXA Specialist Panel.
“Our panel of experienced doctors can make an initial examination of the user and guide them on the next steps to take. Customers can skip the queues at hospitals and clinics, and gain convenient access to a trusted healthcare professional anytime and anywhere, right on their personal mobile devices,” added Mr Costes.
4. Prescriptions available for customers with convenient pick-up at designated pharmacies
To provide added convenience to customers, they will be able to pick up their prescriptions at the nearest pharmacy via prescriptions provided by the GP, which will be sent directly to the pharmacy. Customers can then pick up their medication over-the-counter at their nearest pharmacy without coming up with any cash upfront.
AXA customers who require repeat prescription on over-the-counter medicines can do so through the live doctor consultation. Customers simply need to show proof of previous medical prescriptions and go through a simple consultation before the new prescription is approved and generated by the doctor.
MyAXAHealth and MyDoc are free mobile applications available on the App Store and Google Play.
