February 28, 2019 |

AXA Insurance Singapore today announced new members to its Executive Committee. Mr Kevin Leong has been named Managing Director, Commercial Lines, in addition to his current responsibilities as Country Leader, Singapore - Insurance for AXA XL, a division of AXA Group. Additionally, Ms Juliet Khew has been promoted to Managing Director, Health, following her previous position as Director, Commercial Health, and Ms Hayley Yap has taken on the role of Chief People Officer, succeeding Ms Priya Shahane, who has been appointed Global Head of Executive Talent Resourcing of AXA Group.

In his new role, Kevin will be leading the commercial lines businesses of AXA Singapore. His dual-roles will position him to drive development of and synergies in AXA’s commercial lines business across both AXA Insurance and AXA XL in Singapore, further reinforcing the One AXA model to bring commercial lines customers a single AXA proposition leveraging the strengths of each division. Kevin will be co-reporting to Jean Drouffe, CEO, AXA Singapore, and Craig Langham, Chief Executive, Asia Pacific, AXA XL.

This appointment follows AXA’s recent acquisition of XL Group Ltd and the subsequent creation of the AXA XL division, which has made AXA the market leader in Property & Casualty commercial lines locally and globally.

“I am pleased to welcome Kevin to the AXA Insurance Executive Committee. We aspire to be partners to our customers, and I am confident that Kevin’s contributions will strengthen our position to better serve our commercial customers and distribution partners with a combined AXA proposition”, said Drouffe.

Juliet has been promoted to head the newly created Health Strategic Business Unit, which will play a key role in AXA’s journey to partner its customers in various aspects of their lives. She will be responsible for driving the continued growth of AXA’s health business and a superior experience for health customers.

Juliet joined AXA in December 2009, with a rich experience in life insurance sales and accident & health underwriting. In her last nine years with AXA, she has successfully managed various distribution channels, and developed strong leadership skills in delivering key results with her teams.

Hayley takes on the role of Chief People Officer after over two decades of experience in human resources, risk and assurance, and strategic business planning and partnering, and was last Head of Business Execution for South East Asia, India, and Middle East at ANZ. She will continue to drive AXA’s strategic people agenda while aligning to its business objectives for growth.

“I am delighted to welcome Hayley and Juliet, and the additional diversity that they bring to the table, to the Executive Committee. We believe strongly in developing talent within the company, and I am proud that we have been able to support Juliet’s career development over the years and now promote her to the Executive Committee. I look forward to working alongside Hayley, Juliet and Kevin, and to their contributions as we continue to evolve and enhance our Singapore business around the changing needs of our customers,” added Drouffe.
