AXA Offers One-of-a-Kind Travel Opportunity Through the Great Global Adventure Game

December 15, 2014 |

AXA has launched a unique global online game, The Great Global Adventure, which will see the winner walking away with a once-in-a-lifetime, customisable travel-cum-internship experience. The international competition is open to students aged 18 and above studying full-time in higher education, and those who have graduated from full-time higher education within the last two years. The game stemmed from AXA’s aim to engage students and young adults with a global mindset, and a willingness to invest time in changing society for the better. The free online game has received a positive response, with about 7,500 individuals from around the world having registered to participate.

The Great Global Adventure will be presented in three stages – (i) an online game, (ii) an online interview stage to determine a Regional Winner, and (iii) a final online video conference interview (Please refer to Annex for details of each stage). The participant who emerges tops in the final stage will win the Global Prize worth up to €30,000, a one-of-a-kind international trip of up to 12 months comprising the following:

  • Two paid internships of up to six weeks at two different AXA locations worldwide
  • Community project work with a charity supported by AXA anywhere in the world
  • Up to eight months of global travel experience
  • Travel, accommodation and living expenses (Terms and Conditions apply)

Ms Priya Shahane, Chief Human Resource Officer of AXA Singapore said, “The Great Global Adventure comes at an opportune time where an increasing number of young Singaporeans are actively seeking out overseas opportunities. The customisable travel experience will definitely provide the winner with precious international exposure that will put him or her in good stead for future employment. That said, the value of the competition goes beyond the grand prize. Each stage of the competition poses opportunities for participants to gain valuable skills and build up their capabilities to excel in their endeavours. We look forward to the participation of many bright, young minds, and we hope that everyone will come away with positive takeaways from the competition.”

Apart from taking home the coveted Global Prize, the lucky participant will also walk away with a Regional Prize – a technological device such as an iPad or an equivalent. The Regional Prize is given out to the top four finalists of the second stage of the game.

The Great Global Adventure is open for participation from now till 31 May 2015 at www.greatglobaladventure.com. Interested individuals can also visit the website for more information on the eligibility criteria and participation guidelines.

Annex – Game Stages of The Great Global Adventure

Stage One
Stage One of the game commenced on 13 October 2014, and will end on 9 March 2015. In this stage, players will be tasked to answer a series of challenges in the form of general knowledge questions, logical reasoning quizzes and visual puzzles. They will also be required to post a social media status update of no more than 200 characters about why they are the most deserving of the grand prize. The content of the social media update will be judged by a panel of judges. Participants placed within the top 30 in each AXA designated region (Regional Semi-Finalists) will be able to enter the second round of the selection process. The designated regions are Europe, The Americas, Asia-Pacific and Africa/Middle East

Stage Two
Stage Two will start on 16 March 2015 and will end on 30 April 2015. In this round, all Regional Semi-Finalists will be required to take part in a pre-recorded online video interview, which aims to assess their character and suitability for the position, as well as their motivation for winning the grand prize. Each individual will be presented with five pre-recorded questions. A panel of judges will choose a minimum of five Regional Semi-Finalists who have performed well enough in each region to move on to a second online video conference interview.

In the second interview, one participant from among all Regional Semi-Finalists in each region will then be able to move on to the third and final round of the competition. This participant will be awarded the title of a Regional Prize Winner, and will receive a Regional Prize.

Stage Three
Stage Three of the competition will commence on 1 May 2015 and end on 31 May 2015. The four Regional Prize Winners will be invited to a final online video conference interview with a panel of judges. The participant who displays an exemplary performance will walk away with the grand prize of the internship opportunity.

Participants will be able to check the results after each stage at www.greatglobaladventure.com.
