AXA Art Newsletter                                                                                          Passionate About Art
1 March 2010                                                                                                                 Professional About Insurance

Dear Friends

The year of 2009 has proven to us that the works of master and established artists remain stable and in demand. Auction houses that have insights of this have switched their business focus to master works instead of the frenzy contemporary arts in 2008. The experience told many collectors to look for quality arts and focus on rarity and provenance works.

For savvy collectors, remember to do your research, check international market prices, and buy collections from strong auction house and gallery representation. Further, arts management, such as preserving your collections and locating them with art insurance is a must.

In this issue, you will find articles on artwork preservation and a list of upcoming art events in Singapore and Hong Kong selected by AXA Art Asia. Some events are concurrent and offer art buyers a comparison opportunity. Take the advantage!

If you have any comments or event information, do share with us and email to charles.liu@axa.com.sg.

Optimal Conditions - Humidity, Temperature and Light

While some accidental damages can neither be foreseen nor prevented, there are some steps that can be taken by the owner of a collection to increase the longevity of his art works.

AXA Art is pleased to be able to offer, through this basic quide and at any time in the future, advice to collectors on all aspects of caring for their art collection. This does not replace the advice of a conservator.
