Our Commitment to Road Safety

As one of the leading motor insurers in Singapore, AXA Insurance is responsible to the society we operate in. We contribute to the social objectives of sustainable development through our committed actions aimed at protecting and supporting the community.

With the increase in the vehicle and human population, AXA would like to reinforce the importance of road safety by reminding all motorists to be responsible drivers by changing their driving habits.

We have identified 6 safe driving habits that we believe will make a huge difference to road safety. Click onto any of the iconic illustrations below to learn more about safe driving.

AXA Road Safety Survey

Based on an annual Road Safety Barometer conducted by AXA in Europe, AXA Insurance Singapore conducted a similar survey in the beginning of 2009 and has been conducting on an annual basis.

The objective of the survey is to:

  • Understand Singapore drivers’ driving habits, perception and understanding of safety rules and regulations
  • Estimate, based on self-declaration, the level of compliance to road safety rules and regulations for different types of drivers

AXA Employees Contribute towards Road Safety

As part of our Road Safety Campaign, in August 2011, we invited AXA employees’ children to convey their road safety messages through drawings. These drawings will be showcased in AXA's corporate calendar for the year, 2012, which will be distributed among employees, business partners and customers. We hope the drawings will inspire our stakeholders to make our roads safe for everyone – especially our loved ones.

We would like to thank the children for their contributions and the parents for their support to make the 2012 AXA calendar a special one.

Promoting Road Safety

Taking our commitment to Road Safety one step further, AXA Insurance has initiated several events and activities to promote Road Safety. In 2010, the online Road Safety Contest tested the knowledge on road risks as well as quick reflexes. Some lucky winners from the Road Safety Contest got a chance to particpate in an Advanced Safety Driving Session.

A few select motor agents joined our winners to learn about defensive driving techniques to avoid dangerous situations in the first half of the session. In the next half, participants got to experience emergency situations such as skidding and emergency braking. They learnt to appreciate their individual driving limitations such as their reaction time when forced to stop suddenly.
