Essential Covers
SmartHelper covers domestic helpers from Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh, these countries are sources approved by the Ministry of Manpower. This insurance protection fully complies with the Philippine Embassy's requirements.
Summary of the essential covers for a period of 26 months:
1. Insurance Guarantee
The Insurance Guarantee replaces the S$5,000 security deposit to be submitted to the Controller of Immigration. To issue this guarantee:

a Letter of Indemnity is to be executed by you, the employer.

if you are a foreigner, a local referee is required. Referee can either be a Singaporean/permanent resident or an acceptable company in Singapore. The referee will assist the Insurer to contact the employer should the need arises.
2. Personal Accident Insurance for your Domestic Helper
24-hour worldwide cover (except when on home leave) for death and permanent disability resulting from an accident. This includes reimbursement of medical expenses incurred for treatment of accidental injury.
3. Repatriation Expenses
Full reimbursement of cost to repatriate your domestic helper to her home country, in the event of death or permanent disablement, due to any cause including suicide, natural or unexplained causes, etc.
Repatriation services must be provided by HENG-GREF Medical Supplies & Services Pte Ltd, otherwise, the limit for this cover of S$3,000 will apply.
4. Hospitalisation & Surgical Expenses
Reimbursement of all charges necessarily incurred by your domestic helper as an In-patient in any Singapore government/restructured hospital.
5. Wages Reimbursement
Should your domestic helper be hospitalised as per (4) above, her salary will be reimbursed for the actual period of the hospitalisation up to S$30 per day for a maximum period of 60 days.
6. Re-Hiring Expenses
We will reimburse the Insured the agency fees incurred in hiring a replacement domestic helper up to $500 as a result of termination of the Insured's services following death or permanent disablement of the Insured Person as a result of an accident and/or illness.
7. Security Bond Protection
We will reimburse the Insured up to the amount in the schedule if during the period of insurance the Insured’s Letter of Guarantee, which has been effected in lieu of the security deposit required by the Controller of Immigration, is forfeited due to any breach by the domestic maid of the conditions of the Security Bond imposed by the Controller under Regulation 21 of Chapter 133 of the Immigration Act, including her unexplained disappearance.
